ChatGPT
Connect SoftSignal's commodity data directly inside ChatGPT.
Requires Developer mode. ChatGPT connects to custom MCP servers through
Developer mode (a beta feature) on the web — available on Plus, Pro,
Business, Enterprise, and Education plans. It's a developer-oriented setting; if you'd
prefer a couple of clicks, Claude.ai and
Claude Desktop connect without it.
Steps
1
Turn on Developer mode
In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode.
2
Add SoftSignal as an app
Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create and enter this server URL:
https://chat.getsoftsignal.com/sse
If you're asked for an authentication method, choose OAuth — SoftSignal registers your client automatically.
3
Sign in
ChatGPT opens a SoftSignal sign-in page. Enter your subscriber email and click the one-click sign-in link we email you — no password needed.
4
Enable it and ask
Turn on the SoftSignal app for your conversation, then try: "What is managed money positioning in cotton right now?"
Tip: OpenAI renamed "Connectors" to "Apps" in late 2025 — depending on your
version you may see either label. They're the same feature.
Building on the OpenAI API or Agents SDK?
Connect SoftSignal as a remote MCP server with OAuth — use
https://chat.getsoftsignal.com/sse as the server_url of your hosted MCP tool.
Prefer a one-click setup?
Claude.ai and Claude Desktop connect without Developer mode — see the Claude.ai or Claude Desktop guides.
